Located just a few yards from the Deira City Center Subway Station and only 5 minutes away from Dubai Airport, the Pearl City Suites Hotel is a great accommodation option when visiting the city, an excellent choice that I made.
I visited Dubai twice and spent a total of a month and a week there, so now I can say that I know which areas I would prefer to stay in order to get fast to places of interest for me and the main attractions, Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, traditional markets, Dubai Marina and beaches.
At Pearl City Suites, we stayed 6 nights in an executive apartment, which would translate into a living room, bedroom and kitchen. I chose this hotel because I wanted to be close to the metro, shopping centers, and airport.
Probably if the purpose of the holiday in Dubai would have been relaxing in a resort, most of the time spent on the beach and not exploring the city and looking for different experiences, I would have opted for something else.
Although Deira is part of the old area of Dubai, Pearl City Suites is located in a very modern neighborhood of Deira, full of hotels, restaurants, a huge shopping mall right across the street and other souvenir shops.
I have already given some details about the location, but I also want to mention that Dubai Creek and Al Ras neighborhood, where you will find the Gold Souq and the Spice Souq, two of the must-see attractions in the luxurious Emirate city, are situated nearby.
The metro station near the hotel is called Deira City Center and belongs to the red line, which means that in order to get to Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall or Emirates Mall you won’t have to change the train.
Dubai is not really the greenest city, but you will be glad to know that a small, chic park is right behind the hotel and is called Park Saeed Plaza.
The first thing I noticed once I walked into the hotel was the very tall hallway around which the rooms are located circular, but also the glass elevator inside of which you have access to an overview of the entire hotel. Another thing I noticed was the glass dome that allows the rays of sunlight to penetrate into the hotel.
In the lobby, besides many paintings with golden frames, vases, statuettes and traditional pieces of furniture, a few very palm trees appear, unfortunately artificial, but they look very good and contribute to the creation of an exotic atmosphere.
The staff is very friendly, kind and ready to help you at any time. You will also get a welcome Arabic tee with mint, a gesture that I appreciated a lot.
You can choose between Executive Apartment, City View Apartment, Standard Family Suite, Deluxe Family Suite, and Two Bedrum Suite. We chose the Executive Suite, a bedroom and a living room with an open space kitchen, more than generous in size, about 65 square meters.
The apartment is furnished with classic vintage-style furniture, very elegant and qualitative. In the days we stayed at Pearl City Suites, I have continuously admired the pieces of furniture, whether we are talking about tables with carved and curved legs, whether we are talking about the bed frame, chairs or armchairs and the living room sofa with green upholstery, assorted with some nice decorative yellow pillows.
I also enjoyed the romantic atmosphere due to the light made by the golden-colored lamps. Everything is arranged with great taste and refinement.
If we talk about endowments, this apartment has absolutely everything. In the bedroom, we had a huge bed, a very large closet, spacious enough for two people, a table with a mirror, two tables on each side of the bed as a bedside chair, a perfect armchair for evening reading and a window for the whole length of the room to enjoy the view of the park behind the hotel, and the pool.
Next to the bedroom, we also had a bathroom with a large mirror, just as I like, a shower tub with a glass partition. Obviously, it did not lack any complete personal care kit with essential products.
The kitchen, as I have already mentioned, is open space with the living room and it also has everything necessary not only for simple preparation of the coffee but also for a serious cooking session.
In addition to the refrigerator, stove, hood, and microwave, many pots and cutlery are in place in the brown cabinets. They have been super useful for paratha (delicious Indian bread) with chocolate, prepared every morning.
In the living area, I found a sofa, an armchair, and two tables, in the same classic style of furniture. Our surprise came when we realized that there was a big bonus near the living room, a completely unexpected extra toilet.
There were aspects that I did not like, but which I want to mention: the wifi is quite weak, probably functioning better at lower floors (we were on the 6th floor), and the pool has been inactive throughout the stay for renovation purpose.
