I admit I’m not exactly the type of traveler who would just put her backpack and go searching for the best places to visit, without caring where she’ll spend the night.
For me, a great trip also means choosing some special accommodations, a place that either has a story to tell through the original decor, either it’s situated in the heart of the mountains or next to the water, where you can have some great views.
I’m glad I see more and more hotels, chalets, and beautiful Airbnbs that open their doors and welcome us in the middle of beautiful landscapes. And we already know Romania has no shortage of those.
Therefore, I’ve concluded that I must make a list of the top 10 accommodations with the best view in Romania. I’ve already been to some of them, and I’ve added to rest to my bucket list.

Top 10 accommodations with the best view in Romania
1. Cabana Sapte
Cabana Sapte has my favorite number in the name, but it’s also my ideal place to live. With its large windows, through which you can better connect with nature and its location in the middle of a fairytale landscape, the chalet is the perfect space to retreat for a few days.
It’s located in Breaza, at the foot of the Fagaras Mountains, and you can get to it if you drive for about one hour and a half from Sibiu. The chalet is situated on the shore of a river, in a very intimate setting that I’m sure most of us dream about.
It has five bedrooms, a capacity of 12 people, and is decorated in the Scandinavian style, renowned for comfort and coziness.

This is the perfect accommodation if you wish to spend a few days in the middle of the hills, in a small treehouse. This is where I’ve stayed when I took the Mocanita forestry steam train in Maramures, Romania.
The treehouse, although small at first sight, it’s pretty spacious and offers all the comfort you need. It’s furnished in the Scandinavian style and has decoration that will make you fall in love with it.
Moreover, it also has a small terrace where you can have your morning coffee and enjoy some delicious traditional dishes prepared by your welcoming host. Without any further ado, this is your childhood dream come to reality!
The treehouse is located in Moisei, the half distance between Borsa and the place where Mocanita starts the journey. Basically, you have to drive 15 minutes to each of these two destinations.

3. Balvanyos Resort
Would you like to stay in a 4-star hotel, surrounded by mountains and forests, with sensational views, healing springs, and a gorgeous lake nearby? Oh, yes, please!
All of these are possible if you choose to stay at Balvanyos Resort, for sure one of the hotels with the best views in Romania. It’s situated only 20 minutes driving from Sfanta Ana Lake but also from plenty of caves, perfect to be explored.
Each room has a beautiful design, and it’s super comfortable. The smallest is 22 square meters, while the most spacious is a 4-bedroom apartment with an area of 140 square meters.
I believe it’s the perfect place for couples or families with children, especially since there is an Adventure Park there also.

4. Cabana CeiTrei
Another beautiful chalet worth mentioning in this top of the 10 accommodations with the best view in Romania is Cabana CeiTrei, placed on a hill from where you can enjoy a gorgeous panorama.
The chalet looks exactly like in the Travel Channel tv shows. The attention to detail is more than obvious, and every corner is super Instagrammable.
It’s made of massive beams and has a rustic and modern design, at the same time. The living area is arranged around a fireplace perfect for frosty winter mornings or evenings with movies and hot chocolate.
For a better orientation in space, you should know that the accommodation unit is 7 km from Vatra Dornei and 42 from Gura Humorului.

5. By the Lake
When a beautiful couple of travelers focus their ideas and passion on a project, it shows! Taisia and Gabriel made Vila By the Lake, perhaps the most Instagrammable accommodation in Romania.
The best part? It is located only 25 km from Bucharest, right next to a lake to which it has a beautiful view from all rooms. Although I haven’t been able to get here yet, it’s definitely in my plans.
The villa has a capacity of up to 12 people but also hosts various events with a larger number of people.
The rooms are decorated with wood, glass, and natural stone, but also with souvenirs “collected” by Taisia and Gabriel from places visited by them around the world.
Each room is special and has a different design. They overlook the lake, and some have a direct exit to the large garden. Did I mention the jacuzzi with saltwater and aromatherapy?

I don’t know how many of you know this about me, but I’m from Valcea, and I couldn’t do this article without mentioning the famous Romanian House and its much-loved pool.
Located at the exit of the Olt Valley gorge, in a splendid landscape, regardless of the season, Casa Romaneasca is an accommodation equipped with everything you would need for a successful mini vacation.
You can swim either in the indoor pool with thermal water or in the outdoor pool with geothermal water, you can go hiking in nature through the Coziei Mountains, or you can enjoy delicious traditional dishes at Restaurant-Crama.

7. Vila Norbe
Next on the list of accommodations with the best views in Romania is Vila Norbe. Although I am sure that the images below will make you stay here next time you choose to visit Busteni, I still feel the need to add a few words about Villa Norbe.
It has double rooms, and each has a balcony, but also spacious and beautifully arranged apartments. By far, my favorite is the attic apartment that looks absolutely fantastic, and that beautifully frames the Bucegi Mountains. Did I convince you?

When I decided to make this list of accommodations in Romania with the most beautiful view, I wanted to include something for lovers of the Danube Delta. Well, I found the perfect place to stay when you come to explore the beautiful river that crosses our country.
Lebada Luxury Resort & Spa is a 5-star luxury resort located right at the intersection between Dunarea Veche and Bratul Sulina. Which means you’re basically in the middle of the water.
It has a lounge area, two restaurants, and two swimming pools, and the rooms look great, and some of them have a direct view of the Danube. Have you been to Delta?

If Brasov is one of your favorite destinations in Romania, but you wish to stay in a more secluded space, which will bring you closer to nature than the urban life, then Pensiunea Toscana is the right choice.
Situated on a hill, just 2 km from the center of Brasov, Pensiunea Toscana is definitely one of the accommodations with a beautiful view in Romania.
It has 8 rooms with balconies and an apartment with a terrace, is arranged in a classic and elegant style, and has a sauna perfect for cold winter days. From here, you will have a superb view of Mount Tampa and the huge letters that make up the name of Brasov.
Poiana Brasov is not too far away either. Only 10 km separates you from the famous resort.

10. Conacul Törzburg
I assume that this accommodation with one of the most beautiful views in Romania is going to be more appreciated by foreigners. We already know that Dracula is the most famous character in Romania and deserves more promotion.
If you arrive in Bran, you have to stay in a place where you can enjoy the dramatic image of the castle at any time of the day. And it’s good to know that you can do this right here at the Törzburg Mansion, the accommodation with the best view of Bran Castle.
Located just 500 meters from the castle, the mansion has rooms with large windows that perfectly frame Dracula’s home. It also has a beautiful garden, but one of the best amenities is the restaurant where you can serve both traditional dishes and international dishes.
The accommodation unit looks spectacular, the attention to detail being more than obvious. It also has two terraces, one overlooking the castle and a bigger one in the back.
