Where to stay in Krabi – hotels in KRABI
Picking the right base is key if you spend 4 days in Krabi. Ao Nang has everything: beaches, nightlife, and easy access to island tours. It’s my number one recommendation. I stayed at Panan Krabi Resort, and I think it’s perfect! This place truly has it all: stunning beach views, massive pools, a deliciously generous breakfast, and even a friendly pet turtle to add some charm! It’s just a quick 5-minute walk to the beach, and trust me, the sea view room is worth every penny. You won’t regret it!
Want peace? Railay Beach, reachable only by boat, feels like a hidden paradise. Budget travelers love Krabi Town for its markets and local vibe, but I wouldn’t suggest you stay there.
Prefer luxury? Tubkaek Beach is perfect for a 4 days Krabi itinerary, with serene resorts and jaw-dropping sunsets. For something quieter but close to the action, Klong Muang offers a more laid-back, upscale experience. Wherever you stay, monkeys are everywhere, so good luck! These are other hotel recommendations in case Panan Krabi is fully booked:
- low budget: Vacay Aonang Hotel – sea view, swimming pool, late check-in, 2 restaurants
- mid-range: Noble House Beach Resort – beachfront, 2 swimming pools, sea view, great breakfast, beautiful gardens
- luxury: Holiday Inn Resort Krabi Ao Nang Beach – sea view, fantastic desing, pool, restaurant, balcony, delicious breakfast
KRABI itinerary 4 days
DAY 1 – Explore the town & night markets
Explore Ao Nang town
Ao Nang in Krabi feels like stepping into a dream—or a really well-edited travel vlog. Think endless palm trees swaying in the breeze, a laid-back vibe that makes you feel like all your emails just magically answered themselves, and a beach so inviting it’s basically yelling, “Come on, don’t overthink it!”
It’s perfect for your 4 days in Krabi Thailand—honestly, you might never want to leave. My first thought when I saw it was, “Why on earth didn’t I book more than 4 days?!”
The town is full of little coffee shops where the coffee is strong, and the vibe is even stronger, plus so many restaurants you’ll be spoiled for choice (yes, you can get both spicy Thai curry and pizza if that’s your thing).
The peaceful atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to just wander, soak up the views, and plan your next move on your Krabi itinerary. Trust me, the hardest part of being here is convincing yourself to pack up and go home.
Dive into the vibrant energy of the night markets in Krabi | 4 Days Krabi travel itinerary
If you’re spending 4 days in Krabi, do yourself a favor and hit the night markets. They’re loud, chaotic, and absolutely amazing.
Start with the Krabi Town Walking Street—it’s on Friday to Sunday evenings and has everything. We’re talking sizzling street food, quirky souvenirs, and live music. You’ll smell the grilled skewers before you even see them, and once you spot the mango sticky rice, it’s game over.
You’ll probably leave with a bag of elephant keychains and a stomach so full you’ll need to waddle home. Oh, and if you see fried insects? Don’t freak out—it’s a thing here. Try one, if you’re brave.
If you’re staying near Ao Nang, the Ao Nang Night Market is a bit smaller and more relaxed. They’ve got live music, loads of food stalls, and the best banana roti. Seriously, it’s like dessert magic.
The night markets are such a fun way to dive into local life (and eat everything). Bring cash, wear comfy shoes, and don’t bother making dinner plans—these markets are dinner. Add them to your Krabi travel guide and thank me when you’re happily stuffed and holding a bag of random souvenirs.
DAY 2 – islands & beach fire show
Go on a tour of 4 Islands & Phi Phi Islands
If you’re planning your Krabi itinerary, you’ve got to do the 4 Islands and Phi Phi Islands tour. I booked mine through GetYourGuide, and it was worth every baht. Our guide, Nati, was the best—funny, sweet, and energetic. She had us all laughing before we even left the pier, making the whole day feel extra special.
The tour was just amazing. Monkey Beach was one of my favorite stops—seeing monkeys run around and casually try to grab people’s snacks was hilarious (but watch your stuff!). We visited stunning spots like Maya Bay (yes, the one from The Beach) and snorkeled in the water, which looked so clear that it looked fake.
After all the swimming, the boat crew served a tasty Thai lunch that hit the spot. We even got a little breakfast at the first stop—nothing fancy, just muffins, bananas, and coffee. But honestly, after an early start, did that coffee feel like liquid gold, and did the muffins feel like liquid gold? Surprisingly decent fuel for a day of adventuring!
This tour is such a bargain. There are gorgeous beaches, fantastic food, and a great atmosphere. 10/10, I would do it all over again.
If you’re wondering what to do in Krabi, this should be at the very top of your list. You won’t regret it! Don’t forget sunscreen, though—you’ll need it!
Experience a mesmerizing beach fire show
If you’re putting together a 4 days Krabi travel itinerary, make sure a beach fire show is on the list. Trust me, it’s the kind of experience that’ll make you sit back and go, “Yep, this is what I came to Thailand for.”
The best spots to catch one? Reeve Club and La Medusa Restaurant. Both places perfectly set the vibe: feet in the sand, a drink in hand, and waves in the background.
The shows usually start after sunset. The performers are out there spinning fire sticks, tossing blazing hoops, and pulling off moves that’ll have you thinking, “How is this not dangerous?” (Spoiler: it probably is, but that’s what makes it so exciting.)
At Reeve Club, the vibe is amazing: great music, a relaxed crowd, and drinks that just keep coming. If you want something a bit more laid-back, La Medusa Restaurant has an intimate vibe, plus fantastic food to go with the show. Watching flames dance under the stars while you dig into some fresh seafood? Absolute magic.
It’s a must for any Krabi itinerary 4 days or longer. Just be ready to clap a lot—those fire dancers deserve it. Oh, and maybe don’t sit too close unless you want an unplanned haircut!
DAY 3 – beaches & long tail boat ride & monkey trail
Take a ride on a long-tail boat and discover the best beaches in Krabi
Exploring Krabi’s beaches by long-tail boat is the ultimate tropical adventure. These wooden boats are an icon of Thailand, and honestly, they’re the only way to reach some of the best beaches. You can grab tickets from Ao Nang town (super easy, there are ticket stands right next to the beach), and the boats leave several times a day until sunset.
Hop on, and off you go, with the sound of the engine puttering behind you and the ocean breeze in your face. It’s loud, fun, and the most scenic commute ever.
One of the top spots to visit is Railay Beach. You can only get here by boat, which makes it feel more exclusive. The west side is all about chill vibes: soft sand, clear water, and a sunset that’ll have you snapping way too many photos.
The east side is wilder, with mangroves and a rugged shoreline. Plus, Railay is famous for rock climbing, so if you’re feeling bold, give it a go, or just cheer for the climbers from your beach towel.
Next, head to Na Thang (Ao Thalane). The way to the beach is breathtaking, with limestone cliffs, stalactites, and hidden caves. The beaches in Krabi are stunning, reminiscent of those in El Nido, Philippines. The key difference lies in the water’s color: Krabi’s leans towards emerald green, while El Nido’s shines a vivid, deep blue. Both are equally breathtaking, offering unique shades of paradise.
Follow the Monkey Trail
If you’ve got 4 days in Krabi, the Monkey Trail is something you’ve got to add to your Krabi itinerary. It’s a short, jungle-style path that connects Ao Nang Beach to the quieter Pai Plong Beach, and yes, there are actual monkeys along the way.
The climb is easy enough, though you’ll probably stop to soak in the ocean views or keep an eye on a monkey that’s a little too interested in your backpack.
When you make it to Pai Plong Beach, you’ll wonder why more people don’t talk about this place. It’s quiet, the sand is soft, and the water is perfect for swimming. It feels like a hidden gem compared to the busier Ao Nang Beach.
The Monkey Trail is quick, free, and a fun way to add a little adventure to your Krabi trip. Just keep an eye on your stuff—the monkeys are cute, but they have sticky fingers!
DAY 4 – Tiger Cave, Emerald Pool & a beautiful sunset
Visit the Tiger Cave
Make sure to visit the Tiger Cave Temple during your stay in Krabi. The climb is 1,237 steps, and it’s a bit of a challenge, but the view from the top is incredible.
Once you reach the summit, you’ll get a 360-degree view of Krabi, with limestone cliffs, the ocean, and beautiful nature all around. It’s the perfect place to relax and take in the scenery.
The hike is tough, but definitely worth it for the views. Take your time, bring water, and enjoy the experience—it’s one of the best parts of 4 days in Krabi.
Swim in the Emerald Pool | 4 Days Krabi travel itinerary
The Emerald Pool, located in the Thung Teao Forest Nature Park, is one of Krabi’s must-visit attractions, about an hour’s drive from Ao Nang. This stunning turquoise oasis, tucked away in the heart of the jungle, is perfect for both admiring and taking a refreshing dip.
The natural pool is only 1-2 meters deep, making it ideal for a relaxing swim, but be sure to wear bathing shoes as the rocky floor can be very slippery. While there’s an entry fee, visiting as part of a tour with transportation included is highly recommended, as it’s a bit far from most accommodations in Krabi.
See the sunset on the beach
I might be a little biased here; okay, definitely biased, considering I’m probably in the top 5 sunset lovers worldwide, but trust me when I say sunsets in Krabi are something else.
There’s just something magical about how the colors light up the Thai sky. Please do yourself a favor: head to the beach around sunset, grab a mojito in one hand, and let the sea breeze and vibrant hues work their magic. It’s not just a view; it’s an experience you’ll carry with you long after the sun dips below the horizon.
Things to know before visiting KRABI
Is Krabi worth visiting?
Why would you ask such a question?! I’m kidding; knowing how many beautiful places and islands Thailand has, it is expected to want to choose the best. Since you asked me, Krabi is one of the must-see places in this beautiful country.
The rugged limestone cliffs in Krabi are out of this world, towering dramatically over turquoise waters. So yes, Krabi is undoubtedly worth visiting, especially if you don’t have enough time and you need to choose between Krabi and Phuket, for example.
How to get to KRABI
It’s super easy to go to Krabi by plane or car. Krabi has an international airport, so you can fly here directly or to Bangkok and then take a domestic flight to Krabi.
If you visit Phuket or other areas first, you can take a taxi, minivan, or even ferry to get there. I recommend a ferry only if you are traveling from an island. Of course, renting a car is also an option to consider, but it’s not my first choice I must admit since a scooter to travel around Krabi is better.
Best time to visit KRABI
Anytime! :)) BUT if you want to enjoy sunny days and no rain most of the time, you should try the dry season from November to March. The weather is ideal, with temperatures ranging from 25-32°C, perfect for outdoor adventures.
The shoulder months, April, September, and October, can also be fantastic. I’ve even visited at the end of August and only had one rainy day in two weeks, so sometimes, it’s all about luck! If you’re feeling adventurous and flexible, Krabi can surprise you with its charm no matter the season.
How to get around KRABI
Getting around in Krabi is easy, peasy, and lemon-squeezy. That’s because you can walk; almost everything is within walking distance. And if you can’t walk, you can take a tuk-tuk or a long-tail boat to the nearby islands or take a day tour and visit the most important attractions, like the Phi Phi islands. Therefore, getting around in Krabi is easy and affordable.
If you want to use ride-sharing apps, you must know that Uber is not available, and Grab is the app to use.
How many nights in KRABI is ideal?
Krabi is stunning but not very large, so 4 to 5 nights are generally enough to experience the main highlights at a relaxed pace. However, spending 2 weeks in Krabi isn’t a bad idea; you’ll never run out of things to do! Whether exploring hidden beaches, trekking to waterfalls, or visiting nearby islands by long-tail boat, there’s always something new. You’ll never get bored with so much to explore!
