Cascada s-a format pe raul Potaro, in Parcul National Kaieteur, parte a padurii Amazoniene.

18. Multnomah Falls, Oregon, USA (North America)

• Inaltime:  194 m

• Lungime: 3 m

Aceasta cascada are in spate o legenda foarte interesanta.

17. Rainbow Falls, Watkins Glenn, NY, USA (North America)

Cascada din statul New York este situata in Parcul Watkins Glenn.

It is the most voluminous waterfall in Ecuador, but this is not the only reason San Rafael is very well known. Another good reason is the population of various birds in its surroundings. Being in the Amazonian forests would be a real pleasure to admire this beautiful flow of water.

• Inaltime:  739 m

• Latime:  46 m

The highest waterfall in Yosemite National Park and also in the state of California, Yosemite is sectioned into 3 parts: Upper Yosemite Fall, Middle Cascades, and Lower Yosemite Fall. The best time to see the waterfall is in the spring season, when it reaches its highest flow.

Yosemite Falls

11. Tugela Falls, South Africa (Africa)

• Inaltime: 948 m

• Latime: 15 m

Tugela Falls has a lot in common with the famous Angel Falls; not only they are very similar in appearance, but some people are still debating which of them is the highest in the world. Opinions are divided, and some actually think Tugela is the winner.

10. Baatara gorge waterfall, Lebanon (Asia)

• Inaltime: 255 m

The waterfall is located in Balaa village; its location is known as the Three Bridges Chasm. The uniqueness of the waterfall is given by the way it falls into a cave, behind the three natural bridges. The best time to visit is during the spring when the snow starts to melt.

9. Bigar Falls, Romania (Europe)

• Inaltime:  8 m

Of course, it couldn’t be missed a waterfall from my home country in this top I made, but I promise I wasn’t subjective when I decided to introduce it here. The waterfall is located in Caraș-Severin in Anina Mountains and looks very different from a regular waterfall. The way it falls on the water surface,  it’s marvelous, forming a very beautiful, unrealistic image. However, the very special and original thing about this waterfall is the bright green colored moss that covers it.

8. Detian Waterfall, China (Asia)

• Inaltime:  60 m

This wonderful waterfall is located on the border between China and Vietnam and sometimes it gives the impression that it could be two waterfalls, not just one. It is one of my favorites thanks to the deep green color of the lake which is fed by the falls. The best time to visit is from April to November,  when the water has the highest rate.

7. Plitvice Waterfalls, Croatia (Europe)

The waterfalls are located in the National Park Plitvice Lakes, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The landscape here is incredibly awesome: bright green shrubs, completed by the turquoise shades of the water. I am sure the picture can speak for itself.

Plitvice Falls

6.Niagara Falls, Canada/SUA (North America)

• Inaltime:  51 m

Located on the border between Canada and the US, the most famous waterfall in the world is divided into three parts: the American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls. The most impressive of them all is the Horseshoe Falls. The falls is located on the Niagara River, which connects Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. To truly experience the power of the falls, I recommend a tour boat with the legendary Maid of the Mist.

Niagara Falls

5. Angel Falls, Venezuela (South America)

• Inaltime:  979

It is the highest waterfall in the world, with nearly one km from falling. It took the name of Jimmie Angel, an American aviator who was the first person to fly over the falls. Angel is located on Orinoco River and flows into the Canaima National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

3. McWay Falls, California, USA (North America)

• Inaltime:  24 m

McWay Falls is a waterfall that completes a splendid landscape in California. The waterfall flows directly into the Pacific Ocean and is located on a beach, easily accessible from the Pacific Coast Highway. If you go to Big Sur, you must stop and admire this formidable waterfall.

McWay Falls

2. Iguazu Falls, Brazilia (South America)

• Inaltime:  82 m

• Latime: 2.7 km

Iguazu Falls is located at the crossroads of three neighboring South America countries: Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina. Many small islands divide it into 300 smaller waterfalls, making it look like a landscaped emerged from heaven, and one of the natural wonders of the world.

 1. Havasupai Canyon Falls, Arizona, USA (North America)

• Inaltime:  30 m

Havasupai Falls is one of those places that will leave you breathless. Is definitely my favorite and this is thanks to the combination of the red shaded  rocks, the green shrubs and the amazing turquoise water. Although being quite difficult to get to it, having to hike for several hours in the Grand Canyon, the scenery is definitely worth it.
